Registration

WEC 2019 registration fees are $250 per delegate (Head Delegates and Competitors). The delegate fee includes:

  • 4 Nights at the Canad Inns Hotel
  • 4 Breakfasts and 3 Luncheons
  • 3 Dinners including Gala Dinner with Keynote Address
  • 3 Night Events & Transportation to All Conference Venues

Registration opens on our website Thursday, November 1st, 2018 at 9:00 am CT and ends Thursday, November 15th, 2018 at 11:59 pm CT.

Fees are due by Friday, November 30th, 2018. Late fees will be assessed at $50 per delegate.

Accommodations and Arrivals

Canad Inns Polo Park will be your home for the duration of your stay. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport. Events will be happening both at the hotel and at the University of Manitoba Campus. Competitions will be happening at the hotel. All transportation to the UofM Campus will be provided.

If you are flying into the Winnipeg James Richardson International Airport, Canad Inns Polo Park is located an approximately 10 minute drive from the Hotel. We recommend taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel. The two main taxi companies in winnipeg are:

Two other options that may be a little more effort are using Tapp Car (similar to Uber) or phoning the hotel to request their complementary shuttle.

Competitions

Competitions will be taking place at the hotel. The exact location for each competition will be communicated to you throughout your stay here with us. We will also have volunteers guiding groups when necessary.

More information will be provided by your competition director, if necessary, as you near the competition. If you have any questions regarding your specific competition, please direct all questions to your respective competition director, their contact information can be found on the Meet the Team page.

Head Delegates

Each competing team must elect a head delegate, they may be non competing, they will be responsible for the conduct of all of their delegates throughout the conference. They will be used as a primary point of contact for the organizing committee should issues arise. As well any changes to the conference agenda will be communicated through the head delegates.

Check in and Registration

Delegates are expected to arrive before 7:00 PM CST on Wednesday January 16th. When you arrive, you will be checking in with WEC and the hotel in two separate processes.  

We will have registration set up in the hotel lobby. At registration, we will be checking IDs, verifying information provided on the online registration form, and getting you to sign release forms. You will also receive a name tag, delegate package and other swag items.  

If you purchased hoodies this is where you can pick them up. Just have your email confirmation with you. If you didn’t purchase any but would like to, we may have some extras for sale.

After registering with our team, you must also check in with Canad Inns. The hotel requires that each room leaves a credit card on file. Should any damages occur to the room or any other hotel property caused by someone from your room, the credit card on file will be charged accordingly.
